This diagnosis has greatly affected the patient and the family, causing him to have multiple procedures and several prolonged hospital admissions throughout his life. This patient is the family’s only child and the patient’s mother has stayed at bedside to care for the patient during every admission. Since the patient’s father is the only one able to work, he travels frequently to and from his job in Northwest Arkansas and returns to bedside with the patient and mother. Case #3: This case involves a 14 year old patient that was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in early 2021. This patient and her 2 other siblings have suffered the loss of both their mother and grandmother and have been in the care of their aunt for the past few years. This patient has spent countless hours at ACH and has had numerous admissions throughout her diagnosis. Even though this family is very limited in their resources due to their fixed income, they have been making the almost 3 hour drive to ACH for treatment. Traveling back and forth to ACH so frequently has put a great deal of miles and strain on the family’s only car and recently the transmission on the car has gone out and this has left the family without a reliable vehicle. This family is requesting assistance in purchasing a more reliable vehicle to help transport the patient for future appointments and treatments. Total ask: $8,000 APPROVED
